Thinking of switching to GMMG

Well I have the SLP loudmouth and i am bored with the sound. I know the GMMG is expensive but i think i want it. Anybody know how hard it is to install? I installed the loudmouth myself and it wasnt to bad. Tips or advice appreciated.

Thumbs up Re: Thinking of switching to GMMG

The GMMG system is very easy to install and is very well made so you won't have alot of time tied up in tweaking things after the installation. I wanted to remove my old system in one piece, so I dropped the rear axel down far enough to be able to remove the old system over top of the passenger's side brake rotor. (This involves removing some of the rear suspension components and unbolting the lower shock bolt. If you are cutting the old system off, it is alot easier.) The GMMG system bolted right up with no problems. Even using this method, it took under 3 hours to complete. Some people here have had to bend the muffler heat shield very slightly after installation to avoid a vibration under certain conditions. The sound is excellent! Go for it.

Klypto, u got no cats right? If i'm right, the corsa does sound good but not once u got the cats off, sounds raspy and i think Borla has the same problem. GMMG is awesome, i get compliments on it all the time, I love the sound of mine, never gets too raspy.

is this true?!

i plan on getting FLP LTs/y-pipe same time as catback, doing full exhaust at same time... FLP you can put highflow cats on/off with clamps...

any owners or corsa that can have input on this?!?!

Aw heck just throw an 18" bullet muffler in there where the "resonator" is and see if you like that. $30-50 compared to a whole new catback? Worth trying. I like mine that way.

Very little rasp with LTs and an ORY and not nearly as much rasp as my '96 had with LTs, an ORY and Borla.

I like mine mine alot, I can keep it quiet if I want...or loud.

And the tips are sweet.

I've heard nothing but good things about GMMG though...so it's a tough choice I guess.

Re: Thinking of switching to GMMG

If I returned my car back to stock(never will happen) anyway it's the best sounding exhaust I think and worth the $$$$. But if you do LTs and a cam you will lose your hearing and It would get old very fast. I had the LM and it was so bad I would drive it on the interstate because of the inside noise!!!

Re: Thinking of switching to GMMG

i'm not quite sure my gmmg was worth the money
i got in on the ls1tech.com gp and got it for 600 even
i love how it sounds, but not sure it was worth the money
maybe i'm thinking this way because i don't have a lot of money at the moment or something...

just think about it long and hard before you buy (even though i did, i still question myself)

For less than the price of a GMMG I've gotten a complete exhaust system from headers on back including installation.
