Is there any difference when buying a stat, say one that costs
$15 and one that costs $50 ?
i went to ramchargers website and they have them listed there for around 50$ but then when i called a local ramcharger store
to see if they had any in stock he said no but they can order one
and i asked how much and he said 14.99 for a power stat.
it didnt say hypertech powerstat just powerstat.
does anybody else make powerstat's besides hypertech and if so
is it worth paying for the 50$ one or just buy the 15$ one ?

also any opinon's on using a cooling additive to the radiator
like Purple Ice Super Coolant ?.

 

What store did you call? He quoted you for the wrong price. the ls1 thermo is 50$

i ended up going to ramchargers in person and getting it it was
49.99$ he said the guy didnt know what he was talkin about.

I'm going to drain the radiator when i install the stat, is using
Purple Ice Super Coolant worth it ? if so or not what is a good mix
ratio for the antifreeze ? the guy at ramchargers said to mix it at
70/30 the water being 70.

any suggestions ?

Thats fine...

Drain some of it in the winter and put more antifreeze in than water to make sure it doesnt freeze from the cold. But thats about what I run in mine... 70/30
