Is there a way to do the bumpstop mod w/o one of those special tools?
I have the instructions to do the bumpstop mod on my car, but it says something about some tool that measures the angle, and if you go over 90 degrees your SES light will come on. Well, I don't want that, but I don't really want to buy some expensive angle-measuring thing either, kindof defeats the purpose of a "free" mod. Any help would be appreciated

It's not the angle that matters. It's how much voltage your TPS (throttle position sensor) is sending to your computer. The further the throttle opens, the more voltage goes to the computer, that is the CPU's reference so it knows your throttle position. This voltage cannot exceed 4.6 volts. You can use a simple voltmeter on the TPS and grind gradually until you reach 4.4 volts out put. I say 4.4 because using your foot on the throttle instead of your hand is supposed to add a slight amount of voltage.
