Tell me the LS1 is easier to work on....

Compared to the LT1. I'm attempting to change out my opti in my 95 T/A, after spending the spring tearing the whole top half of the engine off putting LT's and other things on. After working on the stupid opti, with its ridiculous wire routing, and the amazingly tight quarters of the waterpump mounting points (among many other frustrating things) i've pretty much sworn this to be my last LT1. I've owned one LS1 before this car, but never had a chance to dig into it. Putting the LT's on this car was by far the hardest set i've installed, and I've been working on cars (mostly all T/A's) since I was 15. Theres not much I can't do. Tell me the LS1 is much easier to work on, its definetly at least more reliable w/o the opti. Do long tube headers fit better? I've worked on my Silverado 5.3 which is LS1 based and its a breeze. Any insights?

I helped my buddy change the plug wires on his '96 T/A.......

........OMG!!! What a PITA!!!

Look at changing wires on an LS1........at least you can SEE all the wires!!

That's just one job, for example that should be easier. Changing plugs too. And as far as I've heard, doing LT's is a little easier as well.

Its not a simple project and I'd worry just as much about a brand new one as I would if it was old. Its just a design thats bound to fail again. Whenever it rains, even though I don't drive this car that often, I get worried. I also have to investigate any touchless carwash before I enter, kinda strange.
Yea I also remember doing plugs and wires for the first time on this car. I'd rather change the clutch the do those again, though they are easier with the headers on. I think just the elimination of the opti and the coil packs would make me a happy man. Plus, if the long tubes didn't touch so many spots on the LS1 that would be better too. Its hard really, because I really do love this car otherwise...
