Taking crap off.. :)
Taking crap off.. :)
Hello again.. I have noticed several people on the boards that are totally deleting EGR and AIR.. I wouldnt think that deleting AIR would throw a code, but I know the EGR will.. Also I am going to do away with the CATS.. I was just kinda curious if all this time spent is worth anything?? I know the CATS will pick up a couple horsepower, but with using the stock Y pipe I wasnt sure if it would really help all that much.. Any gains for the EGR and AIR, or is just more cosmeticlly appealing?.....Also, not to ramble on, but when deleting EGR and AIR, is the only thing you would need to do is remove the systems and put a plug in the intake, and a plug on each manifold?? Thanks again
Re: Taking crap off.. :)
i took my egr and air off when i installed my longtubes and it isn't worth the trouble imo. you won't see any performance increase, so unless you have absolutely nothing better to do i say leave it alone.
Re: Taking crap off.. :)
Deleting the AIR & EGR will both throw codes and you will see the SES light. You'll actually get 8 codes from the AIR alone.
You'll not only have to block them off, but you need to get them tuned out.

In other words.. not worth it at all.. we dont have emissions but we do have inspection.. luckily inspection is pretty easy, they check your lights, horn, and make sure you dont have any holes in your car and out the door you go.. lol.. its kind of a joke really.. here in West Virginia we dont give a crap about the enviroment.. lol j/k
