It doesn't matter, just what I was told. Didn't care to risk it so I made my own shades to slip in.
my 2002 came with them..
I still use them in the summer then off they go from fall to spring as I usually have the tops off anyways.. (tops are off now)
During the summer, my girl hates the direct sunlight and it burns her fast so she gets the shades... when I am out alone on errands and stuff, tops are off!!

part#s requested
Here's the part #s you asked for 10280598 and 10280597. These are for the neutral or tan interior. If you need a different color I can't help you. They are really great in the summer , well worth the 105.55 total I paid for them. I had a 95 without them and I could not even get it cool in the summer, So I bought a set for the wifes 02 a few days after I got the car.
If you havent used sun shades yet I wouldnt.
Installing them isnt the easiest and I scratched up the plastic around my handle trying.
I'm looking into geting them tinted some more in the spring.

BTW: DONT use t-top shades without securing them to the t-top panel itself....if you rest the edge against the top of the headliner around the t-bar, it will wear out and begin to rip.
i can't account for this personally but ive heard it more than a few times.
