Damn, that sucks dude!

While I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with the latch (if closed fully/properly), I still lock the handle whenever the tops are on --- for those "what if" situations, and especially if anyone else is in my car. You just never know.

No, they won't fly off if latched properly, locked or not. I re-read my post and I didn't write it so as to make my point well. The thing is that it is possible to inadvertently move the handle or not fully latch it in the first place. If you lock it with the key, neither of these things can happen.

Don't worry about two keys,
They can rekey the lock to work with your orginal key. They had to do it with mine when I first bought my car.

The only time i've heard of a T-top coming off by itself when i guy i know was driving his 1980 trans-am down the highway at about 100 mph and the T-top flew off. Not because GM's engeneering is bad but because the bolts holding the peice that the t-top latches into rattled loose.

so i just got my t-top from the dealer, i bought it piece by piece, it cost only 300 bucks, with the tint and the lock encoding..i am now paranoid that it will fly off again, it feels wierd putting it on now, maybe because it has new seals, and i think its gonna fly off again, heh.. hopefully itdoesnt... thanks for your help everyone...
