Post cam question for bolt on car!

im going to run basic bolt ons, intake, exhaust, headers, gears, and pulleys, and want a cam. ive been thinking the b1 cam or a gm hot cam lately because i was told both would work on stock programming and money is tight, so i need somthing that wont cost me an arm and a leg. any suggestions on which cam if not one of those would work well with my setup?

For a tight dollars , hotcam is great
you get the springs and cam for about $450.

add some gaskets and a crank bolt and your
on your way!

obsolete : You hit 12.73 @ 110.56 mph with very few mods. Is that all you have done to the car? That is incredible...

No he just has a "freak" car. If I'm not mistaken this is his second "freak." His times are valid and he doesn't have any other mods other than what's in his sig. His runs were on street tires also.

The b1 cam is awesome. Also look into the T1 cam. Many were running those about a year ago..I'm sure they still are. The info on both was huge and easily found back then...I'm sure someone will chime in!

The B1 looks great to me, it is what I am going to use. It will outdo the Hotcam. It is MTI's "smallest" cam but it is much larger than stock and will make some great power. I don't know about the stock computer, you may always want to use Autotap or MAFT to check and make sure things are right.

if you have an auto you will almost need tuning jsut to get it to Idle. EDIT: with the hot cam that is

You can get a Comp for 350, and a set of 918 springs for 160. save up the extra 50 bucks and get a good cam. it will Idle better, run better and give you more power. plus you can chose what am you want. if you want close to a B1, get a 220 or 222 on 114 LSA.. btw a C1 (Hammer) is nothing more than a comp extreme 222 with a 112 LSA. If you want one that will work better with stock programing and redline, try a smaller one.

a smaller one? i ran a hotcam on my last formula after i popped the motor, and it was on stock programming, ran fine, idled a bit ruff till we drilled out the throttle body though. i will get a maft, but what else should i consider? im most likely going with a hot cam now.
