Suspension, where to start?

I'm looking to improve my suspension for straight line performance and a little for handling too. Where is the best place to start and whats the best/affordable brand to get? BMR?

Subframe connectors are the very first thing you should get. Then a strut tower brace, control arms with relocation brackets, panhard bar, a-arms and k-member. I would do the torque arm last.

Shocks and springs should be thrown in when you decide you need them or when your current ones wear out.

BMR is what I would recommend. Afoordable and quality.

BMR is good, others are good too. Just get whatever looks good to you, there aren't really any "bad" companies.

First thing is definatly sub frame connectors. They'll tighten up the car and give it the feeling it should have had.

Shocks and springs are more handling. Like said just replace those when they need it. A strut tower brace is purely for handling (I wouldn't get one). A panhard rod is a huge handling upgrade. I'd do this one.

Lower control arms will help in both catagories, but more so in straight line performance. As far as the relocation brackets go, many choose not to use them, and some swear by them. They really aren't necessary unless your car is lowered.

Start with LCA relo brackets with the LCAs in the middle hole. You'll get the most improvement for the least money.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree...I think the TA is way ahead of the k-member and a-arms....the stock TA is a POS....IMO. So I would go....

LCA's with relocation brackets
SFC
STB
Shocks and Springs
TA
PHB
Sway Bar's
A-arms and K-member
Baer Brakes
Baer Bump Stop Rod Ends

....that's what I did

But you are right about BMR.....speaking of which are way behind in their orders because some person did an awesome GP on the k-member...but thank god I got everything at cost

Why do you say that? What's wrong with it? What does it do badly that an aftermarket one does better?

The adjustability and strength...you can adjust the TA for your application...ie: A4, M6...mass HP etc....the stocker is stamped steel...flex's too much, I've seen alot break under stress...but I shouldn't call it a POS...it is good for a stock car...

I had wondered about that statement because I had been led to believe that, as far as traction goes, as long as the stock setup has a decent pinion angle (-1.5to-3°) that nothing is to be gained by switching to an aftermarket one except for the minimal weight loss in your wallet.
I plan on keeping mine 'till I get enough power to break it
