Supertrapp
Supertrapp
hey guys i was wondering if any of you guys had experience with this thing. my cousin says that its the shiznits..he says that he has heard it up close and it sounds bad a$$ and it looks crazy sick..he says that its like a muffler and a tip in one...he says it sounds even better with guys with a stick. i used to live in cali and now in san antonio but he was telling me thats what mostly alot of people are running in the bay area is the super trapps. the way he was describing it to me is like if we did longtubes and an off road y, the supertrapps would bolt up to the off road y and just go all the way back. he says it looks like a missle..so im just wondering has anybody heard anything bout these?

Re: Supertrapp
The supertrapp is a tuneable race muffler or at least that is where the company started. So without changing entire exhaust you could run on different tracks. Add more plates for less restriction less plates for more. Mor torque or high end. In the road racing and circle track world they are very popular to this day. I think the big rice pipes got thier idea from the Supertrapp look. The end of a Supertrapp muffler is closed with the exhaust exiting through plates. The sound on a V8 car is definatly intresting no rice sound to it at all. If you are running it with a cat IMO you are wasting your time and money as they are pretty proud of thier products. If you are running one with no end cap again a waste. They are very tunable and easy to do with 6 screws and plates. In 30 seconds you can go from a 100% open exhaust to a fairly quiet streetable sound with toms of torque down low. Ricers in the true form have given lots of products bad names. They are also require by a few sanctioning bodies as a minimum as a spark arrestor. I use them and have for many years. Race car with an once in awhile street use by all means. Full time street most likely not.
I didnt know if the origional poster was fooling about with the origional post or not, but i answered anyway. Btw 90% of the formula Mazda open wheel cars use them. In some racing bodies they are outlawed as they are a varible exhaust system and looked at as not withing the spirit of the rules.
just my 2 pennies ok maybe 3 for being long winded
