heh, how fast do you think that fan blows air? Think it could blow 100-100mph..the average speed for a stock-to-lightly-modded ls1 in the 1/4?

You're right. When I got my dyno I checked out that fan. It works great at cooling the radiator down (simple air movement over the radiator fins) but it didn't move air anywhere fast enough to simulate a ram air effect. More like a trickle air effect.

Why do they call this thing a Super Sucker anyway? It dosen't suck air, it scoops and directs. It should be called a Super Scooper. I guess marketing is half the battle.

In testing the Supersucker we used a construction fan that we bought at Grainger's construction supply. It's a very high velocity fan. We dynoed my car stock. It pulled 299.9rwhp. We added the Supersucker, placed the fan right in front of the bumper and did another pull. With the Supersucker and stock airbox we pulled 312.9. That's a 13rwhp gain. With my SLP lid and Supersucker I pulled 324.1rwhp. That's a gain of over 11rwhp by adding the SLP lid
I don't know where people got the idea that someone dynoed the Supersucker and gained 27rwhp. With the Supersucker and fan to simulate airstream we gained 13rwhp. I have the dyno sheets to back up this claim.

Maybe they ment 27RWHP with the lid/ sucker combo.
Isnt there a clearance issue with the super sucker going over dips and bumps since it hangs under the car, especially if your lowered? Since it is hanging right under the nose

Stock airdam hangs much lower, the supersucker tucks up real nice to the main nose.

FTRA is made very sturdy from steel but it blocks air flow to the radiator.
SS is fragile made from plastic (I had to send the first 1 back because it arrived broken) 2nd one is OK not great. But SS doesn't block radiator.
I think that both will get you about the same performance.
I am interested in getting the SSRA, but wonder why is it so fragile? Its made of ABS plastic which should be somewhat strong. Please any data or feelings on the SSRA and its fragility factor would be much appreaciated...

The old ones used to be fragile. They we're just bonded together with an ABS plastic glue. We now plastic weld them at all seams. They are MUCH stronger than before.

Is a SuperSucker a useful addition to an SS with functional ram air hood?

More so than dryer vent hoseand hacking the front of the airbox?
