Stupid Question... Oil Pressure Switch
Stupid Question... Oil Pressure Switch
Not sure if it is a switch (motor kill for pressure drop), or a sending unit for the gauge, but I broke the infamous SOB when doing my LS6 intake swap.
Now I got lucky and have a buddy that is parting out a Camaro and his is intact. He said that he has no clue on how to get the thing out? I also haven't been able to take a good look at mine yet, but does this thing have a hold down? A clip? Screw in?
Thanks guys!

It screws in - if the intake is already installed you can get a special oil presssure socket at the local parts store. PN is 12562267 for the sensor. What year is your buddy's Camaro? The '98 LS1 sensor is different from the '99 and up.
Wasn't aware the oil pressure sensor/gauge was that far off...just the '99 and up temp gauge? If both intakes are off just unscrew them from the metal part towards the bottom - and be careful reinstalling the intake.
OK.... so just got back from tryin to get that broken SOB out of there. Had no problems with the donor vehicle since I had removed the middle cover area and the other sensor next to it. How the heck do I get it out? Tried several sockets and wrenches.....
Nevermind... made a run to the autoparts store and found out that GM in their infinite wisdom, decided to make it a goofy sized wrench (which they had a "tool" for")
