I have a similar question: What should we forge, when building motor. I am going to have 600+rwhp when done. Thanks.

any idea on prices? Pistons-500? Crank-1000? Rods-600? I heard the cranks on the ls1 holds up pretty good. Can I wait until mine breaks, or what? I'd rather not replace crank if I don't have to. Thanks.

I'd say that if your planning on building a 600+ RWHP Motor then its best to do it once, and do it right! Get forged everything. Why get forged rods + pistons and wait for the crank to break? Might as well get the crank too and be done with it. Peace of mind is much better to have than a broken crank and quite possible other damage. In the end it will just cost more.
