Stupid question

Is there a proper way to fill the radiator on a 98 z28, cause my old 93 was funny as a mug bleeding screws and stuff?

When I replaced my thermostat I just let it idle until it opened and kept adding...might find something at installuniversity.com under their tstat changeout.

Fill the radiator to below the neck.
Fill the coolant recovery tank to the hot mark
Start the engine and let it reach operating temperature

This next step is what works for me:

Once warmed up, allow it cool down completely ( 1 hour minumum) then restart, allow it to reach operating temperature and

fill as necessary to the base of the neck.

Replace the cap and check for any leaks.

If you want to fill it right up the first time after draining all the coolant.
Raise the front of the car 4 inches or more.
Remove the throttle body coolant line from the head crossover tube.
Fill the radiator 'till coolant comes out of the crossover tube.
Slip that hose back on and tighten.
Finish filling the rad. to the neck.
Then fill the overflow bottle to the full cold mark.
Heat cycle (full warm to full cold) and check the level in the overflow and adjust as necessary.

yeah, I ended up driving the car up on the curb so the radiator was the highest point, ran the car and added fluid about 10 times or so. I miss my electric water pump.
