just did the header install...
So I just got home from the most hellish header install ever.. I'll post in better detail when i wake up in the *cough* afternoon.. but the short version is this:
My car caught on fire and i was stranded for 3 hours. I had worked on the install from around 5:00pm to finishing at a little after midnight, then the car catching on fire because on an oil leak, plus 2 more hours to get back home finally.
and to all those griping about THE spark plug and the drivers side header, that was totally easy as hell compared to what everyone makes it out to be, or maybe i had a lot worse happen tonight... hahaha ya thats probably it.

Well ended up just being some hot open headers that ignited some spilled oil. The fire was only active for about 5 minutes, and it appears that only the o2 sensor wiring was melted. Other than that, the install went well, and i completed it in around 9 and a half hours, not including connecting the rear section. But the fire thing was only caught quickly because while driving it, it cut out and the dash flickered and went haywire. I thought oh crap i melted a plug wire or something. it drove fine until then and now it has a very difficult time with timing and not bogging and misfiring and its barely able to accelerate under load without problems. Since the only thing that looks damaged is the o2 sensors, would that cause this problem, or is there definitely another one?
Fire could have burnt/melted anyting under there.. You'll just have to get under it and take a very good look at the damage..
Sorry about the bad luck! Hope its not too bad.. Snap some pics if ya get a chance. Another set of eyes could always help..

Okay, the problem must've been the o2's. I taped up the wires, and now its running alright, all things considered. I mean, its still a little off, probably because I haven't gotten o2 sims, or the rears plugged in. I didn't click any pictures, because I still haven't seen anything visibly damaged other than the o2's on the RH side
