Smile Strobing lights....found the prolem

I had a post this past month concerning the lights "strobing" on my car at a rate of aproximately 4x a second, especially when the car was cold.

The problem was a bad alternator wiring harness. The wires were grounding out within the harness, creating the strobe effect on the headlights/ interior lights. I had the harness replaced (and the dealer threw in a new alternator for good measure), and now the problem is gone.

I had my work done under warranty.... but I know of others who have the same prob and are past the warranty period. So, this is the answer or you.

Thanks to everyone who gave me input. I made a printout and gave this to the dealer when I dropped off the car. This helped the mechanics concentrate on the right area of the car and find the prob.

The problems that can be duplicated are much easier to diagnose.
Glad to hear they fixed it no problem.
Curious, did they say what may have damaged the wiring harness to begin with?
