Stock LS6 intake vs Weiand or Lingenfilter.

I tried a search but it wasn't responding.

Does anyone know of performance gains on the stock LS6 intake vs the Weiand or Lingenfilter metal LS6 Style intakes? Forgive my spelling.

I know the metal intakes can be kind of a heat sink. On that note, I've temp tested the stock intake on a running engine in 85* weather w/ the 160 stat. THe top of the intake was shot at 131*, and the base read 143*..

Is there an intake runner length, or volume difference on the metal intakes? The runners on the LS6 are a little bigger then the stock LS1 intake, right? -That's where the performance gain comes from..... Yeah/neah?

I believe that intake came out very early as far as mods go. Just don't see it used very often since the ls6 intake came along. Probably more for someone running forced induction.

Some mag did a test. The Weiand/LPE intake did worse than the LS6 until the high 6k-7k RPM range. BBK also has an aluminum LSX intake with a larger t-body opening.

Huh... I'm mostly wondering about runner length, if there is any difference.

It'd be nice to have a nice polished piece, but if it doesn't perform, I'm not going to spend that kind of money.

Skip it and stick to the LS6 or the FAST 90/90. It's either one or the other. They're both proven.

Cam = LS6 and ported stock TB
Heads/Cam = FAST 90/90

^ Speed inc uses to the Ported LS6 heads and the LS6 intake. One of their cars is running 800 someodd HP.

I guess it really is a proven performer intake. Even if stock..
