On a tight budget for now as I wasn't planning on this after buying this car 2 weeks ago, till work picks up and can afford new heads. I had to pull my lifters out trying to fing this misc bearing piece in my oil and i've posted about. Anyways, I have the stock LS1 heads and a set of 5.3 heads, both in about the same condition. For now, I am putting in a tr224/112 cam and their push rods and the comp 918's to get me going for the summer.

My question is, it looks like, but are the flow numbers are the same? And if so, would I be any "better" off using the 5.3 heads and running up the compression a little until I can spend some coin on a "good" set of heads?

 

Never mind, I Googled the casting number and found that although same port vol, they do have smaller valves 1.89 vrs 2.00. I doubt the loss in valve size would make up for the boost in compression, or vise versa. Guess I wount be digging them out of storage after all.
