Sticking Clutch?????Why???????
Sticking Clutch?????Why???????
I have had a problem with my clutch for the past couple months. There is not any problem when shifting at low rpm's. But when taking off such as a racing situation and shifting at high rpm's my clutch always seems to stick and stay half-way in always in 3rd gear. Please any help or answers why this just seems to be happening in that 3rd Gear. Thanks

Sounds like your slave cylinder is about to go out. Check your clutch resorvior to see if its low on fluid.

i just recently found out the true problem with these clutches after talking to mcleod for 20 minutes. 1. in the line running from the mastercylinder to the slave cylinder there is a reducer that chokes the line from 1/8" to 1/16" thus your leg has enough power to push the fluid thru, but the pressure plate does not have enough pressure to push it back fast enough, causing clutches to fail early when driven hard. easy fix, drill it out. as far as it sticking to the floor, the fingers on the pressure plate could be traveling to far and are being held there due to the centrifugal force at high rpm, or like chad t 98 camaro said the slave is on its way out.
bottom line, gm did a HORRIBLE job egineering the hydraulics and clutch. not to mention the POS 10 bolt. anyway mcleod is soon coming out with a fix, master cylinder, line, slave cylinder, throwout bearing, p.plate and flywheel that will all come in one package and fix the problem (hopefully).
