If you want the most out of this mod, Yes.

Plus the SSRA gives you more space infront of the radiator, its the little things

Re: SSRA vs. SLP Ram Air

I thought the SSRA was only $70 more.

Definitely worth it.

Re: SSRA vs. SLP Ram Air

Answer this and you'll have your answer:
Is .1 sec or less of a gain worth $100 more to you??
GMHTP did this and they didn't even pick up .1 sec.

IMO SLP's RA is no better than the Free RA and a lid. You'd be better off with the FIPK or Volant if you think you need to spend the cash.

Re: SSRA vs. SLP Ram Air

The advantage the SSRA has over the SLP unit is that it bends down into the air stream and forces more air into it. It is also plastic, so it won't get as hot as the metal SLP unit.

Look on Ebay and shop around for a SSRA at a reasonable price. I'm sure if you try hard enough, you won't have to pay too much.

I think tbyrne sells them. Its a coned filter with a box around it that seals to your hood. Nice looking set up but PRICEY! Won't really make you run any faster than a lid either.

Thanks, I'll pass. I have heard of it only a couple of times and have not seen it, I guess I know why now.
