SSRA + Volant cold air... Worth it?

Well I am thinking about dropping a few into some simple mods on my 99 SS...

I have read some previous posts but want to know what you guys think about dualing up the Volant Induction system:

VOLANT

and the SSRA

SSRA

combined together.. is it worth spending or will just the Volant do?

I want some simple bolt ons right now before I start spending serious cash later...

any thoughts? pics? dynos?

thanks

I'm not 100% on this one, but I don't think you can get the two to work together without some custom fabrication. Either way, you're probably better off just installing the SSRA with a lid and hi-flow filter.

Agreed. They won't work together. SSRA ( now ARA) and Lid.

The volant won't work with the super sucker. The super sucker is designed for "lid" style with the open base, rather than air from the top.

Lid and SSRA is good for about 20-24 rwhp
10-12 rwhp for lid
12-13 rwhp for ARA/SSRA

Volant 12-14 rwhp

isn't the FIPK the same as the Volant? just a different brand?

Not to argue but, unless you're doing ricer math you can't just add the max gains together to get the output of 2 different mods.. That 12-13hp on the SSRA was compared to stock, you may not see that much of a gain on an aftermarket lid. Seeing how they flow better you may see more.

I'm not saying you wouldn't see 20 hp from the combo, but unless its dyno proven together its just ricer math or a guesstimate.

I've read threads where people w/FIPK's claimed the same gains at the track as the lid and SSRA set up, and the FIPK isn't sealed.

Pretty much except the K&N isn't sealed to the hood.

So the Volant should be better than the K&N right? since it has a nice seal on it?
