SSRA + Volant cold air... Worth it?

Not to argue but, unless you're doing ricer math you can't just add the max gains together to get the output of 2 different mods.. That 12-13hp on the SSRA was compared to stock, you may not see that much of a gain on an aftermarket lid. Seeing how they flow better you may see more.
I'm not saying you wouldn't see 20 hp from the combo, but unless its dyno proven together its just ricer math or a guesstimate.
I've read threads where people w/FIPK's claimed the same gains at the track as the lid and SSRA set up, and the FIPK isn't sealed.

My 02 SS stock was 299.9 rwhp
Added ARA/SSRA with construction fan in front to simulate airstream raised it to 312.9 rwhp
SLP lid with K&N and ARA brought it up to 324.1 rwhp
That's over 24 rwhp
Once again
Stock 299.9 rwhp
SLP lid and K&N (no ARA) 311 rwhp
That's 11 rwhp with the lid and filter
I'll retract my statement then. Just making sure. I've seen where people have just added mod gains together only to find out they don't add up.
What did you pick up in the 1/4?

Ram air typically needs some serious force. Now taking into account that the engine will suck with some amount of force, ram air would need to almost overwhelm the sucking effect of the engine in order to produce some presurization... Right? At least thats what makes sence to me.. So after building my place and looking at construction fans, I wonder what beast you must have access to as most seem to push large volumes of air but not at extreme velocities.
Not doubting you, just want clarification since I do many dyno pulls myself.

Just curious here.. .How many back to back pulls did you do? Did you have the fan on during the bone stock run? Were these done on the same day? The construction fan, what was its air velocity and temperature.

Navy01Z, the ARA is the Super Sucker/SSRA. I've had to rename it since there is another product out there called the same thing. The sell a carb spacer for non fuel injected motors. It's a totally different thing but he used the name first, and trademarked it with the government. ARA stands for Austin Ram Air made by Austin Performance Inc.
The SLP CAI is somewhat similar but doesn't have a lower scoop like the ARA. I do make a scoop for SLP, FTRA, and Whisper Ram Air kits to make it similar to the ARA
