SSRA questions

first, how much does it cost generally, and where can i get it?

How would it work on my TA concerning rain? i know these cars are pretty low to the ground, so is rain a problem? also, would there be a problem with bottoming out on somewhat steep driveways?

is it worth it for the gains? am i better off with a cold air system like SLPs?

Usually costs around $100, several of the sponsors on this site offer it. Most people say rain isn't a problem with it. It wouldn't affect your ground clearance at all. I would go with a CAI instead. Ram air on cars is very debatable, the majority on this site swear by the SSRA though.

For the rain you can make a block off. Some use high density foam stuffed into the scoop. I made a aluminum plate that blocks it off at the air box.

Care will be needed with anything that is closer to the ground.

The gains are proven. If I block mine off I slow down .1 and 1mph. Open it up and I get the time back.

where the heck are you getting the SSRA for $100

try $200 is about the cheapest you 'll see

i have a link in my sig if need be

rain hasn't been a problem (south florida) and as for clearance. it easily clears parking blocks and most curbs. don't have steep driveways so don't know about that

Heh heh, my car without the ram air has a problem with steep driveways! I have scrapped at least 3 times in the 2 or 3 months I have owned the car. But then again, I live in a mountainous area with LOTS of steep driveways.

SSRA I think would be great for the induction. However if you drive the car in very wet conditions that could be a problem. With all the rain here in Indiana some of the roads have flooded and their is no other way to go and I think the water would just get sucked up and cause some damage. But I could be wrong and if you have a block off plate that should be fine.

I am not getting the SSRA. Nor any other type of "ram air". Your right though, SSRA is more then I thought, I was looking at other ram air kits.

SSRA rocks

I have driven in really heavy downpours on the highway and have had no problems. ground clearance is not bad either. only thing you need to look out for is standing water ( Flood )

You can always remove the lower scoop if you are concerned
