Spun out Z28, possible damage to rear

Hi everyone, I spun my 2000 Z28 a few weeks ago over some rough and gravel strewn pavement. I was going a little to fast and the the rear kicked out and the I corrected and it came back around but a little to hard. I slid into a small curb not really sideways or straight back but a 45 degree angle. I hit the curb about 25 mph. It blew out the right rear tire and bent up that rim and broke two chunks out of the right front rim.

I just got 4 SLP takeoff rims and 4 BFG G Force KDW's and will get a 4 wheel alignment Monday. The are some other issues that came from this incident that I am worried about

1. When on the highway at speeds about 40mph I feel a vibration and rubbing when the wheel is turned left of center. It goes if I turn the wheel right of center. I hope this is an alignment problem.

2. I have a slight cricket like squeeking from the right rear area. Oh it is anoying.

I looked at the rotors and rear suspension pieces when I took off the damaged rims, inital inspection did not show damage. I would assume if the new tires and alignment don't take care of the problems I will have to get the front and rear suspension checked. Could I have slightly relocatred the rear axle a little? Any idea of hypothesis are welcome.

rear axle is bent

I'll bet you your rear axle is bent. Happened to me. Do you see any black fluid around the rear wheels and quarter panels?

No fluid leaking around the rearend. I wonder how much new axles would run?

make sure

I had those exact symptoms as you and took it to a chevy dealer. he checked it out for free as I have spent a fortune there keeping my monte carlo running, HOWEVER, he looked at it and for no cost said it was the rear axle for sure. I took my Z28 back to where I bought it and he fixed it under warranty. See if someone can verify for sure, I don't think it is like diagnosing a transmission or the like where they charge for troubleshooting. I was afraid to ask what the ale cost as the guy I bought the Z from was not pleased. Good news was after he replaced the axle, which he did argue with at first that that was the problem, the Z is running fine. Good luck, I really think it is the axle.

sliding into curbs

Sorry, I know this is an old post, but...

I did this too, went to the dealer, axle & rim replace, etc...

However when I turn I can still hear a "clack clack clack" coming from the rear only when turning. It gets faster if I turn harder. I'll bet money I bent or broke teeth off of the pinion gears in the diff and they never checked it. Make sure you check it if this happens to you.
