spun bearings and oiling problems with heads/cam

Hey guys...

I remember when heads/cam packages were first being installed on LS1 cars a few years ago..

there were more than a few instances of people ruining their engines..people spinning bearings on the stock blocks. I don't really remember all the details. The stock rotating hardware may have not been adequate for spinning to 6800 rpm (or higher). Does anyone remember any of that?

Has anyone here with a cam package on his stock 346 had problems with reliability/spun bearings? Have these issues been resolved?

Have there been lubrication (oiling) problems?

i have seen these gen III 's go 7500 no problem atg all, i think that slp has a upgraded oil pump though, but i never heard of any lube problems on these motors except in early development when oil capacity was 4 qts instead of the 5.5 qts that they run now

Thanks for replying...

you're referring to early development of the engine at GM, right? I don't think production models have ever had a 4 quart oil capacity.

Maybe I'm trippin'. I seem to remember some guys with MTI heads/cam setups complaining of spun bearings. I'm just concerned about the reliability of a heads/cam LS1 engine.
