Southern Fried Clutch?
Southern Fried Clutch?
I have owned my Z28 for 1 month. It's a GM certified car.
GM replaced the sycro's and forks last month when I complained
about not being able to downshift from 6th to 5th. Works great!
So I went out and bought Nitto's. I was sitting at a light when I thought I would practice my lauch technique. With "ASR ON"
I slipped the clutch to about 4K and started smelling burning clutch DOH!!!! The stink is gone and it seems O.K. So someone please tell me just what the ASR is trying to do when I am attempting a John Force style burn-out.

ASR is traction control, so it will try and stop you from spinning the tires. I don't think that's a problem w/ the ASR though, just your weak stock clutch.
The ASR will close the throttle to prevent wheelspin.
