Some questions about WS6 hood and intake system
Some questions about WS6 hood and intake system
Hey guys, I am looking for a daily driver right now and I think I may go for a WS6. I do, however, want to do some minor bolt on mods to it. I know the basic rundown of LS1 mods, but not for the WS6 intake system.
I am under the impression that the WS6 actually works and does something, unlike the SS hood (correct me if I am wrong). So I am wondering what I can do to utilize this. I saw this ram air aftermarket system called the BG Ram Air Kit. Does this actually work as adveritised, or is it a gimmeck?
How does this set-up sound?
BG Ram Air kit (could this kit suck up unwanted water, like the SSRA kit??)
Free Ram Air
Aftermarket Lid
SLP induction unit (will this thing work with the ram air set up?, and I know about SSRA, but I'm a little hesitant to put it on due to the risks of sucking up water)
Would the K&N FIPK work better with a WS6? Will any of the parts I want to do come in conflict with each other, and if so what would be the best set-up for me for daily driving use (I don't want to have to the clean filter/buy a new one every two weeks)
Thanks everyone!

The LS1 R/A system is not sealed and therefore is not true Ram Air. The BGRA is probably the best way to utilize the hood.
All the under car systems (FTRA SSRA or SLP CAI) block off the front slot so the hood would be useless. They All show HP gains so the choice is yours.
A lid is a must on these Cars, First mod you should do.
From My Experience I felt a better gain with the FRA than with the Debaffled Hood It is said that they conflict with each other but I couldn't tell you either way. I know my filter gets quite dirty from the FRA so it has to be doing something. And the Hood I got at a swap meet for $250 so I couldn't go wrong there.
