Which 5.7L engine? The LS1 is considered 5.7 and is all aluminum also. Are you saying the LS2 weighs 15 lbs less than the LS1? Not being a butt, just want some clarity.

yes 15lbs lighter than the ls1 motors.

from what i hear the ls7 is 7 liter 356 ci block that has a stock 500 hp, and its all alum

7 liters is like 427 ci not 356. That's a 5.8.

But, it still could be a 356 BLOCK, but larger displacement.

The LS2 block will be a great starting point for big strokers. With the 4.0 stock sleeves you will not have to go with a resleeved LS1 block. The parts are compatable (if you look at pictures of the LS2 it has current production heads on it, 241s or 243s.) If I rebuild my LS1 down the road I will build it on a LS2 bare block.

If you are referring to the LS1 block it is 346 cui or 5.7L.
