Smoke related to headers?
Smoke related to headers?
I was over on Ls1 tech and stumbled upon a few threads were people were stating their cars were blowing smoke out the tail pipes after header installs. I know its normal for this to happen right after the install, but this was weeks later. I found it kind of interesting, a few were thinking the added flow of the exhaust, creating a vacuum and sucking oil out past the valve seals. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this? My car does not smoke at all, and i haven't noticed any oil consumption.
Just wondering what your opinions are.
Thanks.

Headers have nothing to do with sucking oil from anywhere. Sometimes they do smoke more after headers because most people remove the cats. Cats will eat up alot of smoke. Also with LTs it seems to make these engines run a little more rich more than they already are so that will give a little smoke
