I don't and will not subscribe to any of the ss vs. z28 stuff, because believe it or not, the fastest 4th gen ls1's in my club, stock and/or modified just happen to be z28's. I have also heard (if it hasn't been mentioned yet...a little late in the thread) that the extra hp from the cold air induction won't show up on a chassis dyno.

The ls1 that is in the z28 and the ss is one and the same. Just enjoy your car and get the best track times from it.

 

The July '99 issue had a '99 Z28 that ran a 12.89 and the November '01 issue had a '01 SS that ran a 12.96. Neither car had any mods.

Hey, I need to ask a stupid question. I read on one of the earlier posts, on this thread, about a Z06 block. How do you tell if you have one of these blocks?
