Angry SLP LT headers and SES light???

I just install SLP LT headers with their high flow cats and y-pipe also, everything by them. I put on about 50miles or so and the SES light came on??? It runs find, I do smell alot of exhaust fumes, a friend of mine said it could run to rich and I could install a Mass translator to my already Mass air meter by SLP to lean it out some? Could that have anything to do with it? Or is it the rear O2 sensor, and I need a simalator for it? Any help would be great.

It's probably the 02 sensors. You can check with Auto Zone first, they can put your car on a computer and check it for free. If that's the problem, put o2 simulators on, and the problem will be fixed!

See if you can pull the code. It is common with SLP LT's too get a infrequent switching code for the front O2's. This is caused by the front O2's being farther back then the stock location.

That probably means that you burnt the wires going to the sensors. I'd check the routing and the wires.

Sounds like the front sensor on each side.

Btw, I think all the codes start with a P.

Like I said infrequent switching. O2 simms will not help you. The only thing that works is to reset the computer every time the light comes on with autotap or pulling the connector off the battery and resetting the PCM.
