IMO, they're not worth it unless you can find a used one really cheap so if you don't pick up much power then you're only out 100 bucks or so. Actually, the only reason I'd probably get one is if I did a gear swap or to get rid of the governor(speed limiter), if I had one.

If you had a M6, then I would say skip it. However, with the A4, it really does change the way the care drives.

I dynoed stock and then with nothing but programming and picked up 14 RWHP on my 2001 Z28

And what's with being able to buy a used one, Hypertech says once you plug one in it "marries" itself to the car?

If the owner programs the car back to stock, like he/she should if they're selling it then it'll work on another car.

Question

6400 rpms?
is that litle to much? do you hit the rev. limiter?
I got mine at 6200, i was worried about moving it more up...
should I move it up a bit?

When I owned my '96 Z28 M6, I re-programmed it with a Hypertech - it was worth it for me just to get the engine temperature down. That's the only thing I don't like about the camaros I've owned - they run too hot! I'm going to get one (and powerstat) for my '99 Z28 A4.

I never hit the rev limiter. As for setting it at 6400, I had it tuned on the dyno at Hypertech. They set it up like that and I never touched it.
