Short Stick help!

Short Stick help!

I am installin my short stick tomorrow... is there like a step by step instructions anywhere? what i mainl need to know is how do i remove the boot so i can swap the 2 bolts and put in the short stick? enlighten me plzzz

The only way I know how to remove the boot is to sort of squeez the sides in a bit and pull upward. There are, I think four tabs that hold the boot inplace. Then from there its self-explanitory. Hope this helps.

Thing is don't squeez too much or you'll break the plastic retainer peice that holds the boot inplace. Retainer or whatever you want to call it, i dunno.

to sum up speedy lol remove boot take off the two screws holding the stock stick put new one in replace two bolts done
but like the man said watch out for the boot retainer it can break easily.

yes it does break easily ... broke mine installing my pro 5.0 but good news was it still goes in fine and holds in place even though it's missing about an inch of plastic in it's semi-square ring.

ok.. so basically i gotta be gentle and PULL the boot off.. it will slide off since there is clips... correct?

Yes .. to be more precise you can slide it back IN since the clips will snap IN but pulling it OUT you have to be careful and gently push/pull in one side of the plastic frame around the bottom of the boot so that the clips on whatever side you push/pull in (towards the shifter) will clear the abrupt edge that they clip around.
