Shock installation Info needed

Have any of the forum members ever had front shocks installed by a Dealer or other mechanic?
What is a fair price for, this including front end alignment?
I understand this is a real job on the 2000 due to having to take the brake master off of the booster to remove as bolt and then when all done it has to be religned.
I think it's more of a job than I want to tackle.
Any help appreciated.

It should be about 3 hrs labor to do both sides or about plus about 50$ for an alignment.

I have a 00, you do not have to remove the master cylinder. Just unbolt it and take the ABS pump out of its bracket and slide it all forward enough to get to the bolt. No need to take any brake lines off.

I priced it out and shops wanted $350+ to do the front, and that wasn't including alignment. So I decided to get an electric impact, rented the spring compressor from Autozone and did it my self for ~$50. If I can do this in an apartment complex parking lot, you can do it also.

If you need any pointers check out ls1howto.com or installuniversity.com.
