I had them both. I liked the ripper better. Get one used from the calssified on LS1.com or here. If you don;t like it sell it on the net and buy the other one.

FWIW they are almost identical though. The B&M is a bit shorter, that's why I liked it better. Its quieter too.

I just installed the 5.0 a week ago. I 've missed 2 2nd-3rd shifts since then. So much for their claim. Anyways, I've seen a bit of extra noise in third gear (chatter, etc), it's a top notch shifter otherswise. Not sure about the B&M though, only reason I bought the pro 5.0 first was because of the 30 day money back warranty.

If your missing 3rd with a 5.0 then you are not letting the shifter do its job.
Try this. When in second, put your hand straight behind the shifter with your elbow at your side, forearm level. Now just put the palm of you hand against the back of the shifter with out grabbing it at all with your fingers. When it's time to shift just push your hand straight forward. Bang your in third. Practice this during normal driving. You'll get the hang of it. Whenever I forget, like after the car has been away for the winter, I'll try to aim for 3rd, over controling the shifter and hit the gate between 3rd and 5th.
The Pro 5.0 is a great shifter. But like anything else it takes practice to be good at letting it do it's job.
