Stock rear? 75 is in third, or the very top of second (at the fuel cutoff ) 5800 in 2nd is 70 mph according to some quick magazine racing (C&D 6/97)

2-3-about 95MPH
and i've yet to try it..but from what i've been told..it will hold 3rd gear all the way to 155 or so..
With some quick math and assuming you are running tires of OEM height, and had the HP your car should hold third to ~170

Yeah if the torque converter in your car was 100% efficient (its not) and your car has a lot of hp (prob more than 400 at the wheels) then yes my math is right. No Joke.

i think he is talking about kmh not mph.. adn to the guy talking about this.......................

is 4th time on how many MPH tranny gonna shift/change gear 1st-2nd , 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th com'n did anybody know this ,

i think he is trying to compare the shift points from z28 to gt stang. liek the auto z shifts from 1 to 2 at 38 and 2 to 3 at 67. and the stagn i have no clue but i think he is tryig to compare the 2. atleast that is what it sounds like to me. later

No dude, he is right. Assuimg 26" tall tires (779 rev/mi) , 100% effiency at the torque converter, 2.73 gears, a 5800 rpm redline, the tranny shifts at redline, and the stock gears in the tranny then:

1st : 2.48 = 66mph
2nd: 1.48 = 110 mph
3rd 1.00 = 164 mph
4th 0.75 = 218 mph

Obviously the torque converter isnt 100% efficient, and the car does not have the hp to push it, but there isnt much loss in an AT (maybe 5%) so his numbers are very close to accurate. I think my 170 calculation from above came in at 6200 rpm... the fuel cutoff, since technically your car could do it, even if you didnt want it to
