Secondary Air Injection System (AIR) Bank 2

What does this code mean.

1998 Z28 six speed.

I have the same SES code, It basicly means your AIR system check valve on bank 2 is probably burned up. Ive been driving mine that way for 3 months with no problems.

 

Are you ever gonna replace the check valve?

 

And what is the downside of not replacing this thing?

To tell you the truth I never really thought about it. It's not hurting the engine and there's no performance loss or mileage change. Eventually I'll have to do something about it, maybe when I finally get my headers.
