i got flowmaster 40 series muffler and the cats flushed yesterday, but today service engine soon light came on. do u guys think its from the exhaust?

i drive 2000 z28 auto, 63k miles.

 

What's up with that cat flush??? I'd say on the surface that you may want to consider O2 sims on the rears. What did you "flush" with....how was it done?

 

O2 sensors are really sensative..I bet its from your "cat flush". I hope you enjoy your "chokemaster" muffler

 

Sounds like the cat flush is the reason you got a code(s). See if you can get the code read from someone with ATAP/Predator - or Autozone will read it for free and post the code.

When you get an SES light the PCM (computer) will store a DTC (diagnostic trouble code). Autozone has a device they can connect to it and "read" the code.

 

How about an authorized GM dealership

If u still have the cats u wont need O2 sims u will need new O2s
The predator from a friend will not help u coz it wont work on ur car. Once u purchase a predator u will have to regiter the vin# in it and it will work only with that car.

Well you are almost right. A pretator is married to the vin of the first car that it's hooked to as far as the performance tune goes. But you can hook it to any compatable GM car and read codes, monitor live data, and such.
