Running too lean..?
Running too lean..?
Just acquired a beautiful red 2002 Camaro SS a week ago.. and everything seems fine with it aside from a steady 'service engine soon' light. So I ran a diagnostic on it, and it turns out that it's running too lean. So knowing that is all well and good, but knowing how to get that fixed would be even nicer.
Essentially I just want to know if there's anything I can do to fix it so I can avoid going to a GM dealership and paying some mook 90 bucks to push a couple buttons.
Thanks.

Diagnostic says it triggered banks 1 and 2, though I'm not so sure it's a vacuum leak. Had that on my exploder a few times, it hisses and gives me horrible mileage, which I've got neither on the Camaro.
But, since I gotta bring in the explorer for an oil change and (Ironically enough) a vacuum leak, maybe he wouldn't mind looking at my car too.

VERY thoroughly inspect the PCV system on the Camaro for leaks. You may not hear it, but the PCV hoses are known to deteriorate and leak. Whatever you cannot see, feel with your hands. Pay particular attention to the the vacuum source for the PCV on the intake manifold, and at the back of the drivers side valve cover.
