Running lean stock ls1

Had my stock 1999 Camaro Z28 dynoed put down 312 hp and 335 tq. My A/F was 13-13.5. Only had one run made to redline. The problem they think is my o2 sensors. But I thought that my SES would go on for that. I changed my fuel filter about 6000 miles ago. Another possibility was my fuel pump was getting weak or fuel injectors are clogged or dirty. You can see my dyno numbers her http://www.cardomain.com/id/rami36. Any help would be appreciated.

It's not running lean by much. Those are great numbers to put down stock. Did you get any KR during the dyno run?

I am new to dyno thing when you mean KR that’s the knock retard if so, I remember him checking for that when he made the last run to redline not sure how much or any KR. How will KR affect your A/F if it does, and the guy made it sound like I was run so lean that I could blow up my engine. I think he said normal A/F was 12.5-12.8 but not sure on that.

Re: Runing lean stock ls1

Someone just explained recently that if they just take an A/F measurement from the tailpipe, they're not accounting for the catalytic converter(s), so the "true" A/F ratio from the engine should be measured before the cats. I dyno'd and also got A/F #'s around ~13.5:1 (with the reading taken from the tailpipe).

........someone please elaborate if that theory is incorrect though?

Thumbs up Re: Runing lean stock ls1

Your A/F ratio is right on the money, After a TC install, coupled to my existing 3.73's, I needed a dyno tune to have the TM and shift points addressed in order for the vehicle to run properly.

The dyno tuner set my A/F ratio to a flat 13.5 to 13.2 (WOT) @ higher RPM, he told me that's the ratio the LS1 runs best at.

Nice numbers by the way.

Judging by your numbers, your car is running great.

Re: Runing lean stock ls1

it's possible he just didn't put the probe far enough into the tailpipe....i made a dyno pull one time and it read 15.4:1! .

the tech went around back, jammed the wideband in further and got 12.1:1.

I was thinking this THU dec 23rd, meet @ CEC about 10:15pm then head over to starbucks. I will try to round up all the f-bodys. or if that day dosen't work then we can try another day.
