rod bolts question

rod bolts question

i was just wondering whats the safest max rpm for the stock rod bolts in ls1, becuase im planning on running a cam that peaks at 6400. any info would be great thanks.

With a 99 your probably going to want to limit it at 6,500rpm I wouldn't push it much more then that... later years you can probably get away with 6,800rpm.

There are people that push them to 7k, but IMO it's only a matter of time that you grenade it doing that.

Upgrade your rod bolts then you can feel safer.

I have my limiter at 6,500 now and shift at 6,200. But I'm only running a G5x2 so sounds like you have a little more cam.

ya im gunna be running the torquer v3 cam so ill have the limiter set to 6500 and it should be okay untill i decide to do rod bolts thanks for response.
