Replaceing my turn signal bulb is impossible!

I can get my hand on the bulb on the back of the houseign the bulb is connects to without a problem, i need to somehow disconnect that piece from the lense, but i cant get it to move, it dosent simpily just pull or twist out..... Ive been working and feeling on it for 20 minutes and got nowhere.... Im about to take it to a friends house to let him look at it and see of he will have better luck...

The mechanic I talked to at the Chevy dealer told me you have to take the headlight assembly out to get to the turn signal bulb, but I did mine and I didn't have to take it out all the way,I loosened it enough so I could get see what I was doing and get my hands in there. It's definitely a real pain in the backside to do.Just be patient and keep trying.By the way,I didn't take the headlight assembly all the way out cause I loosened every screw I could find and it still wouldn't come out.Good luck!

The mechanic at the Chevy dealer lied to you. It's a pain and it does twist, give it some muscle. It's in there good. I've recently done it so I know. Just keep trying and try not to kick the car. If you think getting the bulb out is hard, your gonna really love putting it back in. You can't really see where it has to go so it's so much harder. Are you doing it from under the hood or from under the car? Chevy made that little flap in the plastic paneling. It's a lot easier from that than from under the hood (above).

I got to mine from up under the car, there is a trap door you unscrew to open and you can reach right to it from underneth.... Its not alot of leverage but its alot easier then removing the headlights like your GM mechanic does...

Between my and my friend, we got it out.. It took him mabey 20 seconds to do what i couldtn do by removing the assembly, then the bulb broke off and fell in the lense as we pulled it out..
We had to put tape on the end of a clothes hanger and fish it out... THEN, it took us no time to reinstalle the new bulb... My advice is to just be extra careful not to break the bulb off inside the lamp becaus it takes some effort to fish it out through that little hole..

98+ Camaro front signal access instructions:
Unplug the wiring from the headlight bulbs. Do not remove bulbs from housing.
Now go to the rear of the headlight housing. Centered on the rear of the housing is a single 10mm bolt. Remove it.
Slide the housing toward the nose of the car. This unhooks 2 clips on the bottom of the housing.
Carefully remove housing from car.
If you feel you need a little extra room so as not to scratch paint, undo the 5 or 6 push pins securing the top of the nose. The pins are right under the leading edge of the hood, in front of the airbox. This will allow the nose to be flexed a little to give you more room to remove the housings.
Now, with the housing out, the turn lamp is right there in the open with plenty of room to work. You don't have to lay down and feel around up in the bumper and knock dirt in your eyeballs.
Do both, or either side this way. Put it all back together in reverse order.
This is the same procedure you would use to replace bulbs or install clear corners.
Good luck
Hope this helps
Dave

Yes, its pain in the *** but it's possible to go up from the bottom. I recently put clear corners in mine to match the car and it was around 3 hours just to install both .... and yea just like he said up t here put some muscle into it and torque on it they'll give and then they go in muc easier then they came out.

It's painful but possible - it does take some time the first time but once you know how to do it it's easy..... just turn it....
