removing scrap plate?

removing scrap plate?

you all know of that nast black peace of matte plastic that hangs down in fron of the radiator. i was just wondering but i took that off do you think it will effect the way my car breethes? also i have the free ram air mod and i was wondering if taking that peace of plastic off will effect how much air going through the front of my engine compartment?

PS ALSO how do you take off the grill to an SS hood

DO NOT REMOVE THAT!! That piece is there to direct cold air into your radiator when you are moving. You temps WILL rise if you take that off.

Yeah. All the air will slide right by the radiator and go under the car. You'll overheat in a matter of miles. Leave it there.

lol so thats why im overheating . im a n00b

aslo do you thinking cutting it down to give it a smaller profile will give me a problem?

Probably. Why not just accept that it's gotta be there and not risk overheating your engine?

Some appearance "mods" make sense, but if it's gonna hurt the car, why bother? Just my $.02.

Maybe my mind is going ( ) but wasn't there a racing controversy over a team using F-Bodies tried to lengthen this piece to get more performance and it was allowed in one race and then disallowed in future races?
If so, why reduce it and reduce performance?
