How can I remove my muffler without taking it to a muffler shop?

Install a cutout right before it goes into the muffler. I will have a muffler shop do this soon. Can make it electric valve or just uncap it when you want. Later>>>>>>

Do they rent welders too, because you can't put tailpipes and tips on with duct tape

A guy that used to go to my school has a 2000 SS with no muffler. His exhaust actually sounds quieter at idle than I expected an LS1 with a !muffler mod done Revving and WOT are a totally different story, though

Thanks for the responses guys, yeah I wanted to remove this muffler because its too damn restrictive, and I don't really want to take it to a muffler shop just to have the muffler removed, and get a labor fee along with it.

I cut mine off w/ a sawzall when i put on my slp loudmouth...the real problem is the intermidate pipe you can either cut it w/ a sawzall or drop the axle down on the passenger side.........I tried dropping the axle first due to lack of space for the sawzall....(I don't have a lift so i have to use jack stands) ...but then I got fed up and decided to try and use the sawzall and get it over with (long story short I ended up cutting a hole in the gas tank and had to get a new one)

There is always the hacksaw for those who aren't impatient. But the flame wrench is always preferable.

Our cars sound okay without a muffler, but it will be raspy.
If you cut the muffler out and throw a DynoMax race bullet in the I-pipe you won't have rasp and the sound will be super deep and pure muscle.
The bullet is straight through 3" so there is no flow obstruction.
If you are interested, go to page 2 of my website and get info, pics, and sound clips. (one of the clips in my sig)
Good luck
Dave
