Arrow real 1EGR mod

I just ordered EGR block off plates and just removed all the EGR stuff from the engine bay and the rest of the emmissions pumps or whatever under the drivers side headlight.... It gets rid of alot of BS!!! I recommend it. u will throw an SES light. Car will be lighter and cleaner though, wont mess anything up not haveing it on there. just fyi

Yep But you need to get the codes tuned out so that you can tell when you get a real SES light.

That thing looks hideous doesn't it? heck there are a few other things that you can take outta that engine compartment to free up some space too... like say... all the A/C stuff... make a totally custom PCV thing... (you'd have to see it)... man... I thought I took other things out too... anyways... you probably shouldn't do the wiring harness mod, cause... that might not bee too good in the long run... (cutting hole just large enough for harness ends to fit through on back of inner fender right infront of the computer and running it under the inner fender, behind the black plastic and connecting it back up at the front)... yeah... it's not very protected there it seems...

I did the wire mod and it looks great, and the wires are probably more protected than before. I wrapped all the wires in wire insulation and shrink-wrapped it then wrapped the entire thing in waterproof electrical tape, then cut a hole a little larger than the actual harness(I think it was like 1" or 3/4"?) and put a rubber grommet in there to keep the bare metal(I ground it smooth with the dremel tool) from cutting through the insulation from vibration.

Then I used a couple of the little black clips that held the harness in the original location to hold it under there, along with some double-side velcro just to be sure. On top of all that, the black fenderwell plastic covers the entire thing!

No problems whatsoever and it does clean up under the hood, especially with the !AIR, !EGR and the polished goodies. It probably added a pound of weight to the car so thats not an issue.

It makes it look more like a car than a mess of hoses and wires.

peace

Now that's cool. You did it the right way!! haha... not me... I did it in a hurry, duh on me... but next spring I'll try what you did... my harness was super tight, I had to untape (and retape) and cut things to get mine to even reach, so it's not tucked under the black plastic too much... my buddys car turned out fine though, so I should've known it was operator error.
