raspy sound from flowmaster???

He guys, I put Long tubes and a 3" y-pipe to my flowmaster and now when I barely get on it, the exhaust sounds rattley and raspy, like its gonna come off- it sounds like crap, and I never had the problem when I was running my stock y pipe to a 3 inch single. Can anyone tell me why this happened???

It may be the headers. other boards and other owners stay away from the slp loudmouth for this reason. the exhaust is raspy already and then with the addition of headers it was unbearable. sorry to hear about your misfortune, i can email or pm you a website that has exhaust sounds. they have different exhausts with different set ups. they have a flowmaster with headers and so on, maybe it can give you an idea if yours is "normal" or if something is wrong. i need to be at home for the website, i am work now.

LS1s will always "Rasp" when you ditch the cats. With a Flowmaster you wont hear it as much as say a more open exhaust like a SLP LM but it will still be there. Ditch that crappy muffler and get a real exhuast. Hooker exhaust works great.

this will take you to the flowmaster page. there are other setups and they are listed by the exhaust on the left. just click the exhaust "brand" and then they will give you a page with lots of different setups.

Yes, a cam will affect the exhaust sound.

BESIDES THE LOPE. THE MORE EXHAUST FLOWING THROUGH SHOULD AFFECT IT? LOUDER? DEEPER? I GUESS WHICH EXHAUST MUFFLER YOU USE WILL ACT DIFFERENTLY?
