Ram air kits

I am tired of this damn pos slp air lid I have now. Got the K&N gasket kit to make it seal but the thing isnt nooled right and wont deal at the back. Had it for a year and going to go to a full ram air set up. What the best performance wise track provnen not website numbers. Thanks.Thinking about going with the kit labeled high flow air box assembly on the link below. I like this cause i want to get rid of this lid now and make sure whatever i get fits right!

Your definately not the first person to complain about SLP lid fitment issues. As far as another lid goes the TS&P is top of the line for quality, gains and fit. But if you want to get rid of the airbox all together then an FIPK II setup is dyno proven. Read the long post I wrote in the thread entitled "k&n FIPK w/ssra".

I went in great detail on the comparison of a good lid with SSRA combo vs FIPK II setup. So my advice is either get a better fitting lid like TSP and ARA (formally ssra) for your air intake or switch to the FIPK II system which is very nice too.

But when I researched for my intake I read a lot of user reviews on that stealth airbox your looking at that basically said it wasn't worth the money. More customers were unimpressed with the gains then were satisfied. So I wouldn't recommend getting that based on what others told me about it.

Good Luck

Thanks....so the tsp lid would fit well and seal up without the major fitment issues of the slp lid!? HAvent got to have full ram air was thinking about changing everything since this one fit so damn bad but if the tsp lid fit well ill just get another lid.

Yeah TSP prides themselves on testing every lid before it ships out so they know if they have a factory defect before it goes to a customer. Mine fit like a glove as does most everyone who gets one from them. They also break it down by year and MAF. They have 98+99 lids, 98 + 99 lids for 85mm maf's, 00-02 lids and 00-02 lids for 85mm maf's. They also offer it in regular black, carbon fibre and clear smoked.

Definately good looks and great fit. Plus if you have any issues they will ship you another free of charge. No I don't work for them but I am a very satisfied customer.

Check them out since they just lowered the price of thier lids to be more competitive. Texas speed and performance in any search engine should get you there.

On the texas speed performance website they have like 6 oor 7 options of lids. IS this the one I want for my 99? 25-TSPLid-B. Also do you need the K&N filter gasket to make it seal correctly like I did with the slp lid?

Yes if you just want the black lid then the correct p/n for you is 25-tsplid-B.

You do NOT need the k & N filter breather. Those are only needed for 00-02 model LS1's. So just order the above lid and you should be good to go. I did have to transfer that little rubber grommit from the original lid to the tsp one but I assume you still have that since it should have been used with the SLP lid.

Good Luck
