Quick ?: New Z what CAI do u have/Rec.

Hello. My friend just bought a 2000 Red Z28. What kind of CAI or air induction are you guys running or recommend. Hes looking at the SLP or K&N high flow intakes.I dunno too much about the 98+ models.

if it's a 2000 model, get the lid from SLP... my friend has it on his SS and works real nice... my other friend has a 98 Z28 and switched his K&N CAI for a lid...

the SLP lid has been shown to give the highest horsepower and biggest decrease in 1/4 mile time. I believe it was in the last issue of GMHTP. Thats the one I would go for, only 90 bucks or so too. The only thing that I have heard is that they are ment to be used with SLP's 85MM Maf, so you need to cut a notch in the lid to make it work with the stock maf, but that is it.

No problem

My buddy just did the SLP lid. GM High Tech Performance just recently did a "Lid Shootout" with several different brands but I don't remember the results (I'm an LT1 guy. LOL!).

For a lid I'd get the SLP. It's got the best finish and a hole for the AIR. For the CAI I'd get the SSRA.
