question about superchargers and intakes
i know a guy who will hook me up with aftermarker parts for cheap. i want to get a vortech supercharger and k&n intake, but he said i cant use the intake kit with a supercharger. is this true? he said supercharger is the intake.
Usually. supercharger assemblies come with their own K&N filter. Typically, the design is going to rearrange the way air is delivered to the engine. Pretty much, everything in front of the throttle body will be moved/changed. So, if you go ahead and get the kit, I'd hold off on the K&N untill you see what ya got. Personally, I think the Vortech is ok...but I prefer the ATI procharger. From what I hear, it's easier to install since you don't have to tap into the oil pan. ATI also sells their system with twin air-to-air intercoolers instead of a water-to-air setup like the Vortech. Finally, the ATI setup sits a bit more out of sight unlike the Vortech, which sits right on top of everything. Hope this helps you some.
