Question about SSRA
Question about SSRA
How do you secure the lower section of the SSRA to the upper section? Does it require drilling holes into the front bumper in order to hold the lower section in place? I have read that the SSRA angles away from the radiator, but will it still make the car run any hotter? Thanks for the replies.
The top scoop sits under the the airbox tray and angles away from the radiator (but right along side of it) towards the front of the car. Once you resecure the airbox it should hold the top scoop securely.
Then get under the car and you will see the raditor brace is in your way. That is why the lower box has that cutout. Simply push the lower box into the upper one untill it's all the way in and resting securely against the radiator brace. Now to hold that in place you use the five screws in the kit and holes provided in the bottom scoop and screw it into the bottom of your front bumper.
It's kind of a strain on your wrist if using a regular phillips like I did but when you are done the SSRA will be secure and ready to ram you some HP.
It did not make my car run any hotter so that should not be an issue. Just be sure to make a blockoff plate or use foam in the bottom scoop to block it off when it rains.
P.S. you do not have to drill holes first. It would probably make it a lot easier but it can be done without predrilled holes in your bumper.
Good Luck

Very good description Darren. DaveL, the 5 screws are very small. They're maybe 1/2 an inches long. The bumper cover is very soft. Like Darren said it takes a little bit of pressure to drive them into the bumper. Not a big deal.
